"I just wanted to take a moment to let you know that Savvy Rest may have literally saved my daughter's life! "We started looking for organic mattresses after I got pregnant for the second time. During early pregnancy, my sense of smell becomes highly acute, and I noticed for the first time that my toddler daughter woke up every morning with a terrible chemical smell on her face from her crib mattress. I was horrified to think that she had been breathing that in every night for nearly two years!

We decided to buy new organic mattresses for both our daughter and our new child. We also decided to buy one for our own bed, since I had experienced so much back and hip pain during my first pregnancy, and my husband was experiencing shoulder stiffness and soreness every morning.

After researching and shopping around quite a bit, I decided to place our order with Savvy Rest. Now only two weeks from my due date, I have experienced hardly ANY back and hip pain this pregnancy--a total change from the months of painful nights on our old mattress! And my husband LOVES sleeping on his side of the bed. With very different needs in a mattress, we practically needed two different beds. “First off, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful mattress I received from you. Until I had slept on your mattress I slept only on my side or stomach, often changing between the two in the night, and making mattress selection very difficult. Considering the variance in my sleep pattern we tried a firm base, with one medium and one soft layer that I’ve tried in different orders. The first night I tried with the soft layer on top and laid down on my back just to see how it felt I fell asleep on my back that evening for the first time that I’ve ever been aware of and awoke refreshed in the exact same position having not moved an inch! And even when I awoke sweating due to poor temperature control of the radiators/boilers I still did so a full 8 hours later. Even heat doesn’t seem to disturb my rest any more. Simply astounding. You probably already know this -- but the Savvy Rest packaging and labeling was immaculate. Everything was packed in very sturdy boxes and very obviously labeled. Even the instructions were in a zip-lock bag taped to the top of the first box rather than tossed in somewhere. I was glad to see the latex was not vacuum packed. It's probably been at least a year since I received my mattress in the way you suggested it be configured. I have never had such a comfortable mattress. To think of all those other stupid mattresses I threw money at all my life! Anyway, thanks a lot for helping me figure out what to get....I vacuum it once a week.... I don't know what it is about this mattress, but it's wonderful. I think partly it is because it heats the body where it needs to be heated, and it contours perfectly to one's shape. We had one of the best innerspring mattresses made, but I awoke every morning hardly able to get out of bed with stiffness and back, shoulder, and hip pain.... Even though the quality of the innerspring was “top-of-the-line”, It was just too hard on my joints.When you see a cross-section of how innerspring mattresses are made, it isn’t hard to guess why.

I knew I wanted latex foam because it gives with your body, while supporting it gently, and seems to have a “life” to it that immediately responds back to its original position as my body moves and turns.I had often wondered why anyone would choose the so-called “memory foam”.What a “Madison Avenue” marketing job that is!Anyone who has ever tried one by laying down on it soon finds out that it is like trying to turn over in snow.... So hard to turn your body as you actually are maneuvering against the impression....

My husband had never slept on “latex” before, and thought he would not like it because he had always like a very “hard” feel to his mattress. That translated in his mind as “support”.However, because of my continued problems with our existing mattress, he was willing to give it a chance.

I had a back injury that had been prolonged by the uncomfortable mattress I was sleeping on, but since I have had this one my back has made significant strides toward healing and I no longer arise stiff and achy.

We also like the emphasis of SavvyRest on natural materials and their organic cotton mattress casings.I had been having increasing reactions to various chemicals and smells, so that was important to us....

Our new Serenity Mattress arrived yesterday.I was really nervous because many years ago I took a risk and bought a water bed. It was a disaster filling it with water, setting it up, not getting the comfortable sleep I'd hoped for, and it weighed a ton so the bed could never be moved.The unpleasant memories of that experience made me anxious about purchasing a bed that we would have to put together.However, I ampleased to tell you that my husband and I, who are not very adept at assembling things, were able to "build a bed" by reading the clear, specific instructions.

Although I try to live in the moment, I witnessed myselfsuccessfully completing each step, but anxious that the next step was going to "fail".But that never happened.It was amazing!If only I had been able to let go and trust. I think it is a result of years of buying merchandise that fails us, so we expect the worse. Perhaps with responsible merchants and quality products we can begin to trust again. We don't have to settle. It is encouraging that consumers can choose healthier, better products without being skeptical and fearing the worst.

We spent our first night on our Savvy Rest mattress. We both agreed that it was comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. My husband noticed that he was able to sleep on his back for a longer period of time. I woke up without heavy nasal congestion. With the split latex, we couldn't feel each other's movements.

I have had a latex mattress for 50 years now (one of the first) and want to buy one for my son too. He has tried mine out and really likes the comfort. I have not found a REAL latex mattress in any of the stores. They are all junk (shredded foam and fillers). Even after 50 years, my mattress is still great! I'm glad I found your site.

Wow! I have slept on my bed for nearly a week now! The first thing I noticed was no stiffness in the morning when I got up. After getting used to the change, I have slept 8 hours straight for the last 2 nights! I usually wake up 5-6 times during the night, and 5 1/2-6 hours of sleep is all I usually get. We purchased this mattress (Cal King) in September, 2009. I wanted to be sure and give it some time before providing a review to be fair since it always takes some time to adjust to a new mattress.

WRONG!!! From the moment we put the bed together (and despite some comments that it was difficult, it was not at all) and laid down on it, I could not believe how comfortable this bed was. For my wife and I who had been sleeping on a soft-sided waterbed for 20 years, there literally was no adjustment period. That first night, I have not slept better in years and nothing has changed since then. I have never been able to sleep on my back, but with this latex bed, that is no longer true. I would snore anytime I was on my back and for some reason, that does not happen with this bed! Turning over at night now no longer wakes me up and the support is perfect and unlike TempurPedic mattresses, this latex stays cool. I also used to wake up with my shoulders aching or my hips aching since I always slept on my sides, but honestly, that has not been the case for even one night since we bought this mattress.

Spending over $2000 for a mattress is always a cause for some concern, but in this case, we could not have made a better decision and could not be any happier! And the fact that this model is organic is even better as we both have some allergies and have had no problems. We LOVE IT! It is the best money I have ever spent...that is no exaggeration in our case.

One other thing, our dogs, unfortunately, seem to be as much in love with this mattress as we are :). Not a night goes by without us waking up in the morning with them in bed and that was not the case with the waterbed. Even better, due to the latex, we don't even notice when they jump into the bed at night as it causes almost no movement in the mattress and they both weigh over 60lbs.

We are so satisfied with this mattress, we have recommended it to anyone that asks and my sister-in-law and her husband have also just bought one in the last 2 weeks!

I found the best mattress I've ever slept on over the internet. I was really nervous about trying this, but it worked out so well, I figured I'd share the information!

My 2 kids and I were crammed into a full sized bed and had hit the point where nobody was sleeping anymore. The kids wanted to keep co-sleeping, so we needed a big mattress that would fit on our existing loft. I also needed something that could go up 5 flights of stairs through narrow hallways and ultimately thru my teeny doorways.

We found a mattress that is by far the most comfortable I've ever slept on. Better yet, it showed up in pieces (a mattress case and three layers cut in half--a design which allowed me to specify exactly how firm/soft I wanted the mattress to be). It takes about half an hour to put it all together and the heaviest piece was 25 lbs. I was able to do it myself.

The case was sewn to size so we have a custom-made almost king sized mattress on our loft bed now, and the price was very reasonable.

The mattress is made from organic latex, I wanted something with some give, but I hate memory foam. Latex is very elastic, unlike memory foam which is slow to change shape if you move.

The mattress came from savvyrest.com. I found the company because their mattresses were rated among the best 5 in the industry, a close second behind the most expensive available. Savvy Rest had a reputation for being half the price, small, kind and hugely into customer service. They really lived up to their reputation. Michael Penny, the owner, was just wonderful to deal with. He taught me enough so that I made a really good first-time guess for firmness, (Savvy Rest will swap layers if a mattress needs to be firmer or softer) he worked with me on logistics too.

The fact that the mattress is organic was a huge plus since in the past year fire retardancy laws have led some manufacturers to use chemicals to meet the new standards. Savvy Rest uses organic wool in their mattress case which is naturally slow to burn.

Anyway, the entire transaction and the result were so good, that when Michael mentioned that the company has a "referral reward" I turned it down. They've given us a great mattress at a great price. I'd rather be able to recommend them with nothing to gain!
