Your Mattress and Your Back

In your first few decades, you may be blissfully unaware of the delicate, amazing architecture of your back. You can lift, walk, dance or sleep without thinking much about that stack of disks and the extraordinary tube of nerves, your spinal cord. Your muscles may mutter now and then when you overdo it, but all in all, your back just quietly does its job.
