Bob from Latex International

Very early on when we were looking for a company that could supply our latex needs, we contacted Latex International in Shelton, Connecticutt. Over the years we have had a number of representatives, but Bob Quickstad stands out.

Bob grew up in Sturgis, South Dakota, on a horse ranch. His parents taught him valuable lessons about family, work, and relationships. They are foster parents to numerous children, and their generosity, truthfulness and character is visible in their son’s relationship to us. Bob is a great educator and he never tries to close a sale just to make a buck. Like us, he is interested in long-term, trusting relationships that work for both parties.

I am always amazed at how folks get started in their careers. What child at age 10 or 11 dreams of being an account rep one day? Bob was recruited by a fraternity brother who owned a franchise of a large national sleep specialty chain. So he moved halfway across the country to sell mattresses. His parents were a bit unsure about his decision to use his education in biology and chemistry to sell beds, but he worked there for four years and managed a number of mattress stores.

Bob became passionate about the bedding industry and about the positive effect a good night’s sleep can have on people’s lives. After he and his own family relocated to Texas, he says he was lucky enough to be referred to his current position with Latex International.

It has been rewarding, Bob says, to look back at the relationships he has forged, and to hear how the quality of the products and services he provides has helped to grow his customers’ businesses. He particularly enjoys the interaction and brainstorming sessions he has with customers who ask for his expertise in designing new products and programs.

Bob loves to spend time with his family and play with his sons. He currently lives in Fort Worth, Texas, a place he describes as having a “small-town feel with big city culture.” But Bob’s a cowboy at heart. He loves the outdoors and is an avid mountain biker and golfer, when he’s not working in the yard.

His hometown of Sturgis, South Dakota is home to the country’s largest motorcycle rally. Bob likes motorcycles, but his wife won’t let him have one.

Where have we heard that before?
