Put Your Money In Your Mattress

A well-to-do friend once told us that her dad always said, “To save money, get the best tires and the best mattress.” When you think about it, that makes good sense. Poor-quality tires or a cheaply made mattress can both be disastrous.

We took that pragmatic thinking a few steps further when we developed the Savvy Rest. Not only did we want our mattress to be comfortable, but we wanted it to last a long, long time. And it will.

Reclaim Home

What is remarkable about Bridget Biscotti Bradley is how multi-talented she is. Bridget opened Reclaim in Menlo Park, CA in early 2008. Back then we didn’t know much about her other than that she was opening a business to help people make their homes greener.

The pleasant surprise is that she is as much of an artist as a business owner. Bridget went to college as a voice major, but she soon realized that she could express herself better as a writer; so she changed her major to professional writing and art history and graduated at the age of 19.

A Good Foundation

We are frequently asked what should be used as a foundation for an organic mattress. First of all, a little mattress history. In the very old days, of course, people slept wherever they could get comfortable.

What is your body telling you?

Even those of us who are ardent agnostics agree that we are more than just a bag of bones or a sack of water. We have thoughts, feelings, and emotions; and the human body is put together in organized and functional systems that serve us while we are here.

Greening Gracefully

We are passionate about improving the environment in every way—the air we breathe, the water we drink, the soil our food grows in, and how we power everything. As our awareness grows about our impact on the earth, so grows our passion.

As strongly as we may feel, it is abundantly clear that people’s paths to total greenness vary widely. It’s easy to be critical of someone driving a big SUV while at the same time praising the person one car behind who is driving a hybrid vehicle. After all, SUVs guzzle more fuel than hybrids do.

Green Dwellers

Dynamic. If you have to choose one word to describe Mylene Darelli, it’s dynamic.

Mylene owns Green Dwellers, the first Green Boutique in South Florida. We have met many people over the years; and when we first spoke with Mylene on the phone, we thought from her dialect and energy that she might have grown up in New York or New Jersey. Nope, stereotypes failed once again. Mylene grew up in Montreal, Quebec and is, of course, bi-lingual in French and English.
